ELIGIBILITY
All Radio (electrical appliance) dealers and traders in Penang and Province Wellesley are eligible for ordinary membership of the Association. (Any employee of a member is eligible for Associate Membership)
MEMBERSHIP
The Association shall consist of all persons and companies within the classes of rule 4 who were present at the inaugural meeting of the Association held on 31st May 1960 and all persons duly elected members in the manner hereinafter provided.
APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP
Each candidate for membership shall be proposed and seconded in writing by two members of the Association and shall sign and forward to the Hon. Secretary an application for membership. (Every application for membership shall be accompanied by the appropriate entrance fee and subscription, both of which shall be refunded in full if an application is rejected)
CONSIDERATION OF APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP
- On receipt of an application for the membership the Hon. Secretary shall inform members of the application either by circular or by posting the names on the Association’s notice board for seven days.
- Every application for election shall be considered by the Executive Committee and all members shall be elected by ballot or such other means as the Committee may decide. A successful candidate must receive at least two-thirds of the votes of the Committee present.
ENTRANCE FEE
An entrance fee of RM20 shall be payable by an Ordinary Member and RM5 by an Associate Member.
SUBSCRIPTIONS
- The monthly subscription for Ordinary Members and an Associate Member shall be RM3 and RM2 respectively payable in advance on the 1st of every month.
- The annual subscription for an Ordinary Member and an Associate Member shall be fifty Ringgit Malaysia and twenty Ringgit Malaysia respectively payable in advance on the 1st day of January of each and every year and any member who neglects or refuses to pay his subscription for a period of three months after the same shall have become due shall not be entitled to vote, take part or attend any meeting until his subscription has been paid and any such member who shall neglect or refuse to pay his subscription for a period of four and a half months after the same shall have become due shall cease to be a member
- Any member after paying a lump sum amounting to RM300 is eligible to be a Life Member and exempted from paying a monthly subscription.
- Any member who shall fail to pay his subscription for more than three months shall be notified in writing by the Hon.Secretary.Should such member fall to pay up his arrears, one month’s notice shall be given, his name shall be posted up as a defaulter and after another fifteen days if still in arrears, the Hon, Secretary shall submit the name of such defaulting member who shall cause his name to be struck off the members’ lists, The Committee shall, however, have the power to reinstate such member upon payment of all arrears of subscription and monies due by him and on satisfactory explanation being tendered as to such failure.
RESIGNATION OF MEMBERS
Any member wishing to resign must intimate the same to the Hon. Secretary in writing and shall pay up all subscriptions and monies due by him to the Association.
RE-ADMISSION OF MEMBERS
Any member who has resigned shall be allowed to rejoin without entrance fee if he applies to do so within one year from the date of his resignation.
CERTIFICATE OF MEMBERSHIP
A membership certificate shall be issued gratis to each member admitted to the Association. In case of loss of Such certificate, a new one will be issued upon payment of five Ringgit Malaysia. A membership certificate shall be signed by the President, Hon. Secretary and Hon. Treasurer.
